I began by dating a girl back in high school who had a rich family member that had a house down in Key West by Buffett's house (circa 1989-90).  She kept talking about how great this singer was and how he was so cool.  Supposedly her Uncle knew him and talked to him a lot down there (you know how those stories go).  I'd just gotten a new mustang convertible for graduation, and she bought me Buffett's 'Greatest Hit's cassette so it could be the first tape played in my car.  Listened to it and gradually begn liking each song more and more.  then, as a surprise that summer I bought tickets to his concert.  We ended up there and had the time of my life.  It wasn't as crowded then as things are now, which made it better.  Haven't missed a year since.

Ok... I'll confess....

I'm not a "Parrot Head".... but!  I love several of his songs and would love to see him in concert one day

Some of my youngest memories revolve around listening to Jimmy's songs. My dad listened to him back when I was a kid, so I just grew up with him.

I went to a concert at the Garden State Art Center in Jersey (his last performence there). I was second row center, I got real lucky. During his encore He handed me a guitar pick and in return I gave him a cigar I had in my shirt pocket. I still have the image of him leaving the stage with my cigar in his mouth, a smile on his face, Guitar in hand and waving goodbye to N.J., forever imprinted on my brain.

I was then transformed into a PARROTHEAD for the rest of my days.
