Hi! I'm from Atlanta, GA and attend Kaplan University online. I will be graduating in September 2008 with a Masters degree in Criminal Justice. I plan to go further and pursue a Ph.D so I can teach.

I never had the opportunity to go to college because we had no money for it. I volunteered for the draft and wound up in Vietnam. Enjoy your college experience and work hard because it will pay off great dividends.

I just barely have enough to pay for it and I have three meals a day, from a vending machine.

wspringer, you sound like an intelligent young man. Don't overlook ROTC scholarships or service in the National Guard or Army Reserve. A part-time job with some relief for tuition costs. Good luck and keep plugging away.

I was thinking about joining up with the national guard, but last January my mom had a heart failure and as a result of that has short term memory loss. That kind of put an end to that idea.

I am 1/3 of the way to my Master of Science in Administration of Justice and Security Degree from the University of Phoenix - Online. I also have 8 Credits towards my Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Management Degree from Frederick Community College (A Brick and Mortar School) and will be getting an Internship next year hopefully with The National Weather Service (NWS) in Lincoln, Illinois.

LOL I have 1 semester of college and now that college no long exists so I can get a report card from a historical society for the 15 credit hours I have done. I would love to go back to school because now I can add my academy time and extra training for credit hours towards a degree. So far the best is 20 hours for the academy plus I beleave 5 hours for each Certificate I have through the dept plus apparently the Annual cycle training counts for credit I really need to check in with this stuff

Someone also forgot to mention the Marine Reserves! The Best in the World. Nobody pushes you harder like the Marines do, you get training that is equivalent to Special Forces.
