On June 30th Lakewood, CO police officer Dave O'Shell kiiled his wife Tiffany, a former Lakewood police officer, and then himself at their home. Dave snapped after hearing of possible charges against him for child abuse against his then 3-months-old daughter. She had 11 bone fractures. Two days ater the murder-suicide, a court ruled that Dave was innocent. His daughter Alyssa suffered from spinal muscular atrohpy. Alyssa died two days ago. If only Dave waited a few days, this terrible tragedy would have never happened.

Please keep Baby Alyssa and her parents in your thoughts.

aw jeez, well that sure bummed me for the day.  we as professional police officers have to remember we are human and theses extra stresses put upon us can often overwhelm the best of us.  it is the responsibility of all of us to watch out for each other, talk to each other, i know all the locker room machismo bull shit, believe me,  i own a shit load, but we gotta watch out for each other, watch for signs not normally there. talk to your buds of things bothering them, it may take time for them to open up but wtf.

Why does the story say, "Officer O'Shell did in fact abuse his daughter"? Is he not innocent until proven guilty? He is not here to defend himself. May he and his wife, Tiffany, Rest in Peace. Rest in Peace Baby Allysa.
