I have heard many "Christians" talk about the Pro Choice/Pro Life debate and their stance as though there was a gray area. Personally this issue is not up for debate as the Bible is very clear on when life begins and on murder. I was recently on a political forum and got into a pretty interesting discussion about this and would love to hear what you all have to say.

(I realize that this is a passionate and polarizing issue)

I agree with you 100% Santino.  I cannot support any effort (political or otherwise) that condones abortion.  God knit each of us together in our mother's womb according to the Bible, and had intimate knowledge of our hearts and souls before we were ever born.  How people can so callously discard completely innocent and defenseless preborn human lives is beyond my understanding.  Whether or not the government should have control of this issue, maybe THAT is the debate.  But no Christian should accept it based on God's laws, regardless of what country of government they live under.

Thanks bro I was wondering if anyone was out there, or cared. You restore my faith in my fellow man. I was in a debate about this on a different forum and a lot of the guys on there were against only parts of the current abortion laws. I just don't understand how you can one can be against murdering a 7 months old child but 5 months now thats ok. Or oh its ok to kill a child if the pregnancy was the result of rape. You know rape is unfortunate and no one hates that crime worse than me. It makes me want to puke. We shouldn't punish the children for it though.

Thanks for the post.

I'm so pro-life anyone who knows me and disagrees will not bring it up. Im very out spoken especially on this subject. In my opinion (which is the only one that matters LOL) abortion is infanticide, and should be a crime. Life begins as soon as sperm and egg meet, plain and simple. I'll talk about this all day long if you want.

Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a savior, who is Christ the Lord."

Any so called "Christians" who say they are Pro Choice are hypocrites to their faith and they are not true Christians.   Period.  That's it. Bottom line.  They have no stance with this opinion in the Holy Bible.  They are a disgrace to Christianity.

Amen.  These people that say the times have changed.  But you know the Bible is still the same.  Keep the faith.

I used to be Pro-Choice, believing this to be a womans decision.  The older I get and the more I grow in my faith, I don't see how anyone could not be Pro-Life.  Everything happens for a reason.

Ya know Duane I think thats the way a lot of Christians see things in the beginning. I used to think that abortion was o.k. if the woman was raped or something similar until I heard my preacher do a sermon on "Why God hates abortion" from that day forward I've been completely against it. I just needed to hear the facts from the Word. I think that's what a lot of Christians need to hear. I just wish I could put the message together like my pastor. Good on you Duane for coming to the light.

If you consider abortion to be ok, I've got news for you.... You're not a Christian. You are an empty suit that goes to church on Sunday because you think it's the right thing to do, but you never listen to the WORD! Abortion is infanticide, everyone says it's a womans right to choose, well what about the babies right to choose life?!!! Abortion is not birth control, it's murder. The same people who say it is a womans right to choose are the same ones who will charge someone with two murder counts when they kill a pregnant woman. Why? Just because the woman would have carried the child to full term and gave birth? Well what about when they induce a woman to have a child early and jam a needle into the back of it's head and suck out it's brain? It's not murder then because the woman decided she did not want to have a baby?!! You're all EVIL plain and simple.

Those that kill their children are wicked and do evil in the sight of God.

If you are pro-choice you are pro-abortion, and if you are pro-abortion you put yourself in the same league as Adolf Hitler!  And just to think our next President is in favor of partial-birth abortion.

Anyone that can view an ultrasound of a moving baby sucking his/her thumb inside its mothers womb and call them indispensable and disposable and unworthy to continue growing and developing is killing a human life.  They have done studies on how babies inside the womb respond to loud and aggrevating noises....now why would they respond to anything at all if they were not a living growing human being and already connected to the outside world.

I absolutely don't see how people can be pro-choice.  Children are a gift from God from the point of conception (and even before).  Anyone who claims to be pro-choice just needs to see an ultrasound.  That is the most amazing thing ever!!

Pro-life

end of discussion.  God said "thou shalt not kill" and if anyone thinks that this is not murder must not have a child or have been fortunate enough to experience the birth of a baby! They need to watch a video of a partial birth abortion where the brain of the child is scrambled inside the skull then sucked out - my God how cruel can that be.  That is truly murder in every since of the word - why do people not get the death penalty for this......murder is murder.   God said it - it is in the Bible and no true Christian should pick and choose what they beileve from the Bible. Pro-life -  NUFF SAID!

I agree with the posts here and am against stem cell research for all of the same reasons, but that is probably another topic altogether.

The new leader of this nation is going to issue an executive order to allow babies to be killed and then use their stem cells for research.  A truly wicked act which tends to shead light on his character.

I pray every day that God will change Obamas heart and those of the doctors.  My mind will never comprehend how someone candeliver a child most of the way, hold it in their hand, and push a scalpel into that baby's brain...

I fear that Obama is part of Gods plan for the United States of America.  If I am right we are in for a rough ride.  I pray that I might see the face of God.  Only by seeking the face of God will he head our prayers. I believe that by studying history we and get a look at the future.  Each time Isreal turned their back on God he sold them into bondage and they stayed there until they changed and started seeking the face of God again.

I could not agree more.  Unfortunately, as I've mentioned on other strings, I even see within church people who have become "of the world".  I think this is either a wake up call, or the beginning of the end

ALH,
I think the same. I have been reading a lot of Jeremiah and it is just crazy the parallels you can draw between the Israel of that day and the America of today.
