I remember living at this lady Dorie's house, sitting on an older couch with my little brother James, and it was kinda darker, but it was during the day. We were eating lunch, and there were cheese poofs, and it was raining and thunder storming real bad outside. I was like 3. We lived on the lake. My mom was standing at the edge of the sliding glass doorway and I remember getting really scared because I thought she was going to get struck by lightning. And then the thunder cracked really loud and thats all I really remember, stupid I know, haha. I remember all the zillions of pine trees that were right outside, we were elevated off  of the ground and held up by a lot of beams, so it was really scare yet cool.

I remember not being able to walk yet when the family went to a forest.  Dad was pulling me in a little red wagon with a rope tied around his waist to the handle.  Well, the handle fell off of the wagon and he didn't notice for quite some time.  I bet he planned it all along.....  LOL

I expect and I accept that I will be challenged, threatened or attacked. When I am, I will make it impossible for the suspect to be successful.

Earliest that I can remember was when I was 4-5 and we would go to Yosemite and watch the "Firefall".  Early 50's!

Anybody out there know what that was?? I haven't met many who know!  Wish I could find an old postcard of that!

I remember when you could leave you doors unlocked, the key's  in the car, play outside and NEVER worry about drive by shootings, child Pervs, or any of the dangers we have today. But, with that aside, I remember sitting on Grandpa's lap in his BIG rocking chair and eating ice cream right out of the box. My bone headed cousins would appear with spoons in hand, but Grand pa would they could have some when his little girl was finished. He wasn't mean, I was born 6 weeks early and I was very small, and I almost didn't make it. Grandpa was at the hospital almost 24/7 with me. There was always a special place in his heart for me, and there will always be a special place for him. RIP Grandpa.

To this day....I still eat ice cream out of the cantainer.............and smile.

I recall some years ago mentioning it a memory to family members they thought I was being silly till I sat down with them and described in detail my memories, they were amazed I could recall a time so long ago.

I described being near a window in a crib as I stood up i couldnt even reach the top,so standing there it was little slats or bars I was holding onto it was cool to the touch so I imaged it was a metal crib, which was white with greenary on it,and the one thing I remember most about this is this colorful mobile that hung down just barely out of reach.

May not be my earliest memory but one of my best was when I won a 1/2 gallon of chocolate ice cream for my birthday.

At the time my Dad was working at a local radio station as a Radio Announcer (DJ), he also was a Preacher, and the station would have a drawing everyday for people's birthday and they'd win 1/2 gallon of ice cream. Somehow my name was chosen that day and I "won" the 1/2 gallon of my favorite flavor CHOCOLATE!

This was over 40 years ago but I will always remember it!!!

We lived on Tonawanda St. in Buffalo,NY,where I ,my sister and brother Don were born.In the house not in the hospital. We had a bulldog which I would play with out on the driveway, Before the house ran a streetcar. I seem to remember throwing the ball out onto the street just as the streetcar passed the house. The ball rolled uner the streetcar with the dog running after it.Needless to say,the dog was injured from the streetcar, running back into the yard,,howling with pain and all bloody.More I don´t remember. At that time I was about 3 years old.

Then there was the time my father  and a couple of freinds were playing poker and needed another chair for a guy who just came in.My father told me to bring a chair from the other room.I picked the chair up carried it to the door but could not get it through the doorway.Me being "sow-doof" was too  dumb to turn it up and down so it would go through the doorway. My little sister Evelyn, about 2 years old,but smarter than me took the chair out of my hands, turned it around and with out any problem carried it trough the doorway. I have thought of that incident many times through out the years.

The earliest most memorable event I can remember is sitting in my mother's lap, with her holding my 27-month-old little sister on a couch.  My mother was crying and we were watching television.  The day was November 22, 1963.  I was 4, and Walter Cronkite and many others were discussing the assasination of President Kennedy.  Being young, I was trying to console my mother.  I told her it was okay, because it was, "just television."  The same thing I was told when one of my favorite heroes were hurt during a show.

The absolute earliest thing I can recall is my mother making white divinity (about 3 full batches).  She took a nap, and I ate the whole thing.  I was sick for a few days, and to this day, cannot stand the SMELL much less the taste of Divinity Fudge.

When I was about 2 or 3, we went camping in the mountains. I brought my treasured Hot Wheels along for the trip. I would play with them all day in the dirt. By the time it was dinner, I was covered in dirt.

I also would go in my mother's car and sit on the drivers seat and say, "Look mom. I'm driving!"

I was just over 4. Dad had been transfered to Biloxi and we lived in what was a "garden cottage" behind a big white house with pillars. My brother was just a baby and my older sister and I slept out in the glassed in porch 'cause the house was really small. We were right across the street from the beach and the storms would scare me senseless when they hit, especially at night. Just a few years ago I had occasion to go through there and could not believe I knew the "big house" when we drove past. Sadly Katrina took it out. I'm really glad I got to see it one more time!

The summer of 1961, I was nearly four and my sister had just been born in the previous March.   My father borrowed a car from a friend and we took a family vacation to Newquay, Cornwall  (UK) - my first trip to the seaside.  We left in the early hours for the three hundred mile journey - no motorways (freeways) then - which took about ten hours, twice what it takes now.   My sister spent the next few months imitating the seagulls squawking.  I remember a sandy cove, and a man on a tricycle selling ice cream along the beach.

Christmas when I was 4 or 5...I got a red pedal-powered 'Mercedes' car, along with a pretend gas station pump.  I still remember how the gas pump handle felt in my hand.  I rode that sucker around the house all night (snowy MI).  I guess it was my version of a Red Rider BB Gun.  That was my favorite Christmas gift ever.

Earliest memory I have was growing up in WI.  Mum was sick and I was playing with our black lab Turk, I decided he needed a bath.I remember the rationale behind it - dark dog, shampoo suds up white so the shampoo had to be dark.  Mum was not impressed - she heard me rummaging around in the fridge and then came out - fortunately no carpeting but there I was with the dog - head to toe in hershey's and paw prints and footprints all over the house.

Roopy-Doop. yes a roopydoop it is a noun (thing). It was a scary monster that was about 6 ft tall (enormous when you are only 43 in tall) it was blue with a yellow stripe across its belly. Looked like IT from munsters or adams family or whatever show that was. My dad saw it several times when I was growing up. I never did still have not lol. I am taking my little girl in 2 weeks to see my family my dad will be there. He will be telling her all about Roopy-Doops.

I grew up in Colorado Springs. One summer my Aunt,Uncle and Cousin came to visit. We were at the Garden of the Gods sightseeing,.My dad, uncle, brother and boy cousin went hiking. I wanted to go. I must have been about 5-6. My brother was about 4 ish. All of the sudden a rustle in the bushes. My dad said SHHHHH I think I hear a Roopy-Doop. My brother and I FROZE. My dad explained to my cousin what it was. He then froze as well. My dad said look it is a Roopy-Doop and omg. look kids you will never see one like it again. My brother and I strained to look. then my dad yells ' AND IT IS COMING THIS WAY' my uncle picked up my cousin and my dad picke up my brother and booked. I was left scared shitless couldnt move.

Well my dad was tossing rocks the whole time now into the bushes. Of course I found out as I grew up.

I was the youngest and remember my brother and sister (8 and 9 yrs older) playing the "close your eyes and open your mouth and you'll get a big suprise" game with me. Needless to say it wasn't a pleasant experience! We still laugh about it today!

You're not the only one who can go back that far.  My earliest memory is lying in a crib, having my diaper changed (why it had to be this, I don't know).  I can remember it like it was yesterday, looking through the slats at my Dad in his polyester pants, white shirt with butterfly collar and big fat brown tie (this was in '75 or '76).  Mom was wearing a white shirt but I couldn't see anything else because the crib blocked the view.  Mom didn't believe me at first when I told her, but I described the room and everything else in such detail that she was stunned and said it had to have been while we were living in St Augustine, FL.  We moved to Jacksonville when I was around 18 months old.  I also remember sitting in a high chair, playing with my scrambled eggs.  I told Mom about it and described everything around me; she said I couldn't have been two.  Just after my 2nd birthday in January of '77 it snowed in Jacksonville; I remember wearing my little blue jacket with fur around the hood and hopping around in the back seat of the car while my Dad scraped ice off the windshield and said some things that were improper for a little girl to repeat!

I was about three years old and my dad had just gotten home from work.. I kept saying daddy pick me up.. so finally after he put his things down he picked me up and raised me above his head.. I laughed so he went around in a circle with me still up in the air... I had my arms and legs stretched out like a air plane so I started to make noises.. After a few seconds we both started to get dizzy so he put me down and I walked in a crooked line into the living room and ended up sick all over the livingroom rug.. not the pretty one but the ugly one that my grandmother gave to us but my mom never was able to say she hated it.. lol another one I may have been 2 years old me and my grandfather went on one of those carrosil things I was up against the poll and holding on for dear life. When things started to go in circles I started to cry.. my grandfather said it'll be over in a moment Jess don't worry I got you. I relaxed and stopped crying.. After that I wanted to go on that ride like five times in a row then I got tired of it.. lol

I remember when I was 3 years of age, my older sister and I were playing in our sandbox that my dad had just built for us, and my sister had a bucket of water and she was showing me how to make mud pies...then we moved on to little dixie cups and made mud drinks and she pretended that she drank hers and told me it was my turn......Well, gullable me...I took that cup and tried to gulp it.....ended in choking and my sister dumping the rest of the bucket of water o my head to help get the sand out of my mouth(well, thats what she said) hahaha...Luckily my dad came to rescue me... I think that was the start of our sibling rivalry...hahahaha.. no seriously...we fought like cats and dogs and now we are best friends, I couldnt ask for a better sister....and that incident taught me to not be so gullable....but I was 3!!!!hahahahhahhaha

My earliest memory was when I was just 2 1/2 and my mother gave me fish and I choked on a bone and had to go to the emergency room to get the bone out.  When we got home, I got a terrible beating because I had not noticed the bone and had to go to the hospital.  that was the first of many beatings as a child.
