I had been having a heck of a time trying to take pictures all day with the dang sun glaring, but then i took this picture (which i think is kind of cool). It's at a mission in Goliad, Tx. Does anyone have any tips on how to take pictures of something that you really want, but have the sun glaring in your pictures? Comments \ Opinions?

If you have the sun behind the item you are taking a photo of, try using a fill flash. If the sun is causing a glare across your lens, try shielding your lens using your hand, a hat or a piece of cardboard.

Sun is a booger, try shooting late or early in the golden hours. also invest in lens hoods. You might also try a polarizing filter (circular), you can get some interesting effects.

36TR had good suggestions also 3x5 and 5x7 white cards are useful for a lot of things.

Good shooting.
