Posted about 1 month ago I decided to join the CHP. I was on the fence of where I thought I can display my talents. I was for a while concidering the sheriffs Dept. but I deicided to go ahead for California Highway Patrol. Wish me luck as I start my path into a career that I know I will excel in. | Posted about 1 month ago Don't know if you have decided in regards to displaying your talents whether they are just going to start you right out on patrol or if they will put you through the academy and all that other stuff. However, you may want to bone up on your spelling. If you decide that you will be displaying your talents by doing reports for them, spelling may come in handy. |

I wish you all the luck in the world on your new path. Good Luck with the CHP. Sorry that others like us/leo are not being as encouraging. All of the things that an officer has to go through that actually starts with the idea of joining Law Enforcement, because we all know, or should, that this can be a dangerous job, that not only affects the one serving, but family members and friends. So to you I say, Good Luck from you sister in Blue!!! Others on this site should see that it isn't a sink or swim situation, its a forum. The title is JUST WANTED YOU'LL TO KNOW....and i believe that is what he was sharing...SHARING... so since we all know that we aren't getting pats on the back through all that we do from society, maybe we could do it for one another...................Just wanted you all to know!! tracy lord |

| Posted about 1 month ago Tracy, I don't have a problem patting someone on the back for DOING something good. But I'm not going to pat someone on the back for making the decision to join the CHP. It's just a damn decision. This guy has a LEO God complex and he isn't even a LEO yet, just a security guard. Check out his profile pics. He thinks that "arresting" someone for a domestic fight is fun. I honestly didn't know a security officer in California could arrest someone a domestic fight. http://www.policelink.com/albums/63145-profile-pictures/photos/6896... He has extremely uneducated post such his post in http://www.policelink.com/topics/38537-please-read-and-answer/posts He posted, " LEO's have the authority to pull over any vehicle for any reason if they have belief that something might be wrong. It that case he maybe used the question " Is _____ in the car" (saying that, gave him a reasonable excuse to pull her over.) Just to check for a license and other things and he happen to stumble upon a snag."

| Posted about 1 month ago I do wish you luck but just don't get to cocky. You'll get a rude awakening when your in the academy then get put out on the streets. Be safe and use your brain as well. |
