Our department is looking at new uniforms both class A and class B.  At this time we are issued Flying Cross shirts and Fecheimer pants.  The majority of officers are unhappy with how they wear and the overall quality.  We wear tested 5-11 class B pants and loved them but we have been told that the 5-11 shirts change so often that we would have to be buying new shirts all the time so everything matched.  I would like to know from my brothers and sisters what they would reccomend.

What do you think are the best brands of police uniforms based on fit, durability, looking great, price etc.  Yours truly has been tasked with doing all the research so come on everyone help out a brother.

Thanks

I think Blauer for class A's are great. For B's, I wear 5.11 pants and shirt, which is poly/cotton ripstop. I am happy with them as well. I wouldn't buy the blauer bdu pants, as they fade pretty bad.

For the cost, the generic Galls class A shirts are great. I've had them last quite a while now. I think they're Duty Pro.

We wear Flying Cross shirts & Fechmeier pants for class A & Elbeco for class B. The BDU's are better for the colder weather, but I still like a class A & commando sweater combination, but the BDU's are our official uniform for winter wear. Besides who likes ties? Dickies work for me. Love all the pockets in the BDU pants. Usuallu try to get a sap pocket put in my class A's good for all sorts of extra carry items such as small flashlights, extra cuffs, or just notepads.

We were all set to go with 5-11 but then were told that they change their shirts every year which meant there would be no consistency.  What have you heard.  I love the 5-11 but if I suggest it and next year the shirts are different, I think my buddies would kill me.

We have been using Riverside Manufacturing for our uniforms, and recently started testing another company that is out of Dayton, Ohio. Riverside is out of Atlanta, Georgia. Both companies make the uniforms that they sell.

Both companies have good service, and the uniform quality seems quite good. I got tired of dealing with Fecheimer and Flying Cross due to the long waits for deliveries. The 5-11 products tend to fade quickly, which caused us to drop them off of our list.

I will find out from the uniform place I go to; he's a 5.11 distributer.

Kirsten is my favorite and she is the one that told me 5-11 cannot guarantee the same product as far as shirts from year to year.

They told me that they do have improvements but the fabric color is the same and that they would love to come to the PD and meet with the Chief, I am very impressed that in these days there are still companies around that put forth some effort.
