The Springfield XD , do not get me wrong I like glocks, But the xd has better ergonomics and felt recoil is less and it is easier to have an XD on the target for a second shot.

G22 or 23 compared to an XD40, matters not! XD40 is better, fits better in your hand, faster on target 2nd and sub. shots and just flat out looks like you mean business. I fired both side by side on the range last year and hands down the XD.

I asked my local gunsmith if I should trade in one of my Glock 40's for an XD 45 because I liked the ergonomics of the XD better. He said "No way", if I was going to bet my life on my gun, go for the Glock. I still like the feel of the XD but I'll probably just add another Glock to the stable. Most likely a 21.

XD 40. Although both are great guns, the XD fits ME better. And that is what it comes down to, what fits the shooter. The only brand that should be worried about is one that is proven in battle. Other than that, which ever one fits the shooter.

XD 40. It has a better grip (in my opinion) and the angle of it just feels more natural to me. Both are great pistols, but the Springfield is currently my weapon of choice.

Springfield XD .40 I own it and I like it because Its been tested just as much or more then the glock its recoil isn't bad. It is safe and ergonomaclly correct also an accurate firearm as well, and I recomend it to anyone who loves to shoot. And besides its made in the USA and also I trust Springfield Armory because they were the first gun makers to help us in the wars of are forefathers.

Just a matter of likes, and hype. I already have a .45 ACP, and just bought a Walther P22 9mm P.A.K.. I fired it last weekend. Confortable, and on target on second shot.

the XD is a great weapon. but depending on the extras you need (holster, etc) the glock is easier to shop for... i had a real hard time shopping for a duty holster for the 4" barrel.

XD is an awesome new addition to the firearms industry.. I would'nt own a glock if it were given to me.. Having to carry a glock is one thing. The Xd is my personal choice in all 3 models...

I just read a posting on a secured LEO only list about an agency that was trying to adopt the .40 cal Glock (forgot if it was the 22 or the 23) but due to some tech failures connected to light mounts the agency wound up adopting the 17 (9mm).

I used to own a 23.... loved it.... never tried the XD on the firing line, but it seemed to fit my hand nicely...

All things being equal, I prefer my Kahr K40, yeah it's mag cap isn't as good, but the extra weight controls recoil better for faster, more accurate follow up shots....

I have a Glock 23 and a XD-40 and love them both but i carry my glock on duty one cause i have more rounds and two since am left handed it is alot easier to find left handed gear for the glock right now than for the xd even though more and more stuff is starting to come out for us south paws for the xd

XD is awesome! I have fired both, and now own an XD 45... Probably not as popular right now because it is relatively new, but it has the benefit of being more modern... Even the testimonies written on this site say the XD is a better fit, and overall better gun... Shoot them both and form your own opinion... I think you will see the XD is the better more modern gun...

GLOCK by far, used both the XD does fell better but I have had friends that had problems with them and they are higer maintnence I saw one a few weeks ago that the slide was red, the GLOCK on the other hand my dad has caried for 15-16 years without any problems (rust or hangfires) and has only cleaned it twice ( I gripe at him about that every time I see him)  with a few mods that cost about $50-$75 is more acurate.  I have a G22 with night sights, ext mag relese, ext slide relese, hogan grip, stainless recoilrod /w 19lb spring (stock 17lb) alows for pepole with normal sized hand not to have to take the wepon off target to relod, and have less recoil for better group, grip is great if your ever exposed to the weather, sweety hands, or just for a better feel than the plastic
