Here's the deal. With as much traveling, conventions, conferences and places LEO's go, there is always the question... "Hey, where's a good place to eat in the place?" Whether it's Vegas or Timbucktoo, it doesn't matter. There's ALWAYS a good place to have chow and the cops/deputies know where to go. Non-LEO's know places, too. Submit your best place to eat. You're gonna have to post city, state, maybe general street address and, obviously, the name of the restaurant or eatery. Give us the 'what the place is known for' entree. I am guessing, there are some folks in here that would appreciate the suggestion. Anyone is welcome to post. If you get stupid, you'll get booted. Plain and simple. Ok, where do I go for a good meal...?

Toto's Pizza: The World's Best Pizza. I kid you not !!!

Google for directions.

Great Falls, MT - Big Mouth BBQ. This isn't some fake bbq - I'm talking pulled pork, cajun catfish, sweet potato fries, ooooh boy! Now I'm gonna go tell them that I just "plugged" their business across the world for everybody to read and I want some "kickbacks" in the form of ribs. - LOL - If you're from Texas - might as well stay home - these guys hail from that area and the recipies are "Texas-style", so it's probably just everyday ho-hum for you folk.

Troll...the other white meat. It's what's for dinner.

Brooklyn: Peter Lugers Steak House. You can cut the steak with a spoon!

Manhattan: Any restaurant in Chinatown or Little Italy.

Brooklyn: Nathan's in Coney Island. Good hot dog & fries.

Manhattan: The Oyster Bar beneath Grand Central Station.

hrmm in Fayetteville, NC i'd have to say that Texas Road house (my fav)or Logans are great for steak(both on Skibo rd) and i think its a little on the expensive side but Super King Buffet( i believe its on McPhearson Church rd) is good for chinese and everything else. Here in VA pretty much everything good is near the Richmond area hit up Hull st or the Midlothian Turnpike they have everything. In CT, my favorite place is Ruth Chris's Steak house on the Berlin Turnpike...ok im getting hungry...

Scoma's is over priced, if you want to spend some scratch, go to Alfreds in SF. Toto's is no longer the pie place it once was. The owner sold and reoped a store in Brentwood. For Pizza go to Gambardellas in Menlo Park, a short train ride from the city.

Whoa-WHOA ! Hold the phone there SFPD !!

Let's see, yeah Scoma's is pricey but good chow.

Alfreds...location? I will try it. It's gotta be goooood food. Not hit-n-run then go 10-8 food...

Toto's: Ok, Chi-Chi used to work this place back in the 60's though the '80's. He retired and others took it. I was just in there with Mrs. Sarge (Millbrae location) and it was to die for !!! I didn't know there was a Brentwood restaurant. Now, I am on a mission.. Are you're talking Brentwood as in Southern California? If so, there's your answer! That dough for the crust needs the sea air from the Bay Area.

As far as Gambardellas in MP, you're on ! I am always on the hunt for the 'world's best pizza'. I had a pizza a couple of weeks ago in Indonesia. It was pretty good. Then I got a look at the chef. Definitely an Italian !!!

Thanks for the input. There's ALWAYS controversy on what's the best. And being a native from The City, it's always good to check out new places. I will be at the Cliff House on Friday !

Brentwood by Discovery Bay, off 580 in the east bay. Scoma's is good, just expensive. If you are on vacation in SF and you are gonna eat down on the warf, it's one of the better places. I would rather go to McCormick and Kulettos if I'm gonna pay that much, plus you can walk over to the Buena Vista for an Irish Coffee after. ;)

Gambardella's is "New Haven" style. The owner and chef is from Conn and he cooks them in a east coast style. Cliff house is great, I used to eat breakfast at the little diner down the hill (Louis) after getting off my mid shift.

Gaithersburg, MD:

Starvin Marvins (Duval Shopping Center on the north-side of the railroad bridge on MD-355 in gaithersburg), great pizza and subs

Chipotle (Gaithersburg Square, MD-355/Perry Pkwy, next to the fairgrounds) if you don't know Chipotle, then try it

Panera Bread (same shopping center as chipotle) not just bread, really good stuff.

Fred's On the Avenue Deli - good stuff here too.. I-270, get on Montgomery Village Ave (those going SB turn lefft at the light at the bottom of the ramp, NB will be going that way anyways) cross MD-355, turn L on Russell Ave (at the fire house), then turn R into the driveway behind the firehouse, loop back the the far end of the firehouse and freds is right there.

Vocelli Pizza - Carry-out only (but the PD goes there for pizza and takes it back to the station 2 blks away) from SB MD-355 turn L on S. Summit Ave, cross the RR tracks, turn L on E. Diamond Ave, then find a parking spot either on the street or behind the building.. its in the on the left..

These are all some good places to eat if you're in the DC area. there's also the tastee diner in Bethesda, MD.. but i can't remeber how to get there (too much traffic down there anyways).

I want to find the driver(s) at the front of the traffic jam and have their license(s) revoked. Then make them ride the bus until they promise never to hold the rest of us up again.

In north Miami on west dixie hwy not sure what block theres a small pizzaria named Marios. It looks kind of like a dive in the middle of a bad neighborghood but it has by far the best pizza anywhere. They have awesome garlic rolls, too.
I have planned whole road trips just go down to Miami to visit my brother and stop at Marios and come back, on back to back days...Its that good!

Well, let's see what I can give you on Michigan...

In Detroit, try "The Farmers Market" in the eastern Market area, "Louie's Ham" on Mack Ave. and Riopelle (just north of Eastern Market, Lafayette Coney Island (In Downtown Detroit), American Coney Island (next door to Lafayette Coney Island), Armondo's on W. Vernor and Clarkdale (mexican place on the southwest side of Detroit in the Mexicantown Area).

If it's sliders you are looking for, Telways on Michigan Avenue and Martin or Mott's on Fort Street and Green, both in Detroit.

The Ham Center in Warren on 12 Mile and Van Dyke.

Tony's in Birch Run (north of Flint) is always a hit.

The Dixie Saloon in Mackinaw City (4 hours north of Detroit) is awesome.

Mackinaw Grille in St. Ignace (across the Mackinac Bridge from Mackinaw City in the Upper Peninsula) has great whitefish.

Now for the upper peninsula...

The Antlers in Sault Ste Marie, Timber Charlies in Newberry, Tahquamenon Falls Brewery at the upper falls (north of Newberry), Lake Superior Brewing Company in Grand Marais, The Bear Trap in Melstrand (north of Munising), The Dogpatch in Munising, Sydneys in Munising, Tailwinds in Gwinn (on the old K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base - used to be the O club for any of you A. F. vets that may have been stationed there), Hudsons in Marquette, and my ALL TIME FAVORITE... Foggy's in Christmas (5 miles west of Munising)...Grill your own steak.

All of these U.P. places are usually hit when I'm up there snowmobiling, but they are all great year round. Why not come to Michigan this winter, we'll give ya a grand tour of God's Country by sled.

These are all "a little bit of everything" places with the exception of Armondo's and the Coney Islands. All the U.P. places are known for the fish and burgers. Tony's is know for the large quantity of food they put in front of you.

In central New Jersey try....Arthur's Steakhouse, Georges Road, North Brunswick, nice cozy atmoshere ane the steaks are great. The Bluerock Cafe in Cliffwood Beach is a great "Shore Bar/Restaurant with a friendly staff, a nice sports bar area and some great local seafood as well as sewer cover sized burgers and the best Buffalo Shrimp around. If you are into the Irish bar scene try McDonough's in Keyport on Fri/Sat nights (especially if Willie Lynch's band is playing) they have a good menu of steaks and seafood. Old Man Rafferty's in New Brunswick is another good dine and drink spot, as is Old Bay (terrific Cajun style food, try the Jambalaya). In East Brunswick it is Sunny Palace on Rte. 18 for the best Chinese around and in South Brunswick on Georges Rd it is Fuji for the best in Sushi and Hibachi style meals (I recommend the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp) (Fuji is a BYOB).

If you are in Augusta swing on by TBonz, excellent salmon and steaks and don't forget the cheese fries. If that does not float your boat stop on by Sconyer's BBQ, but keep in mind they are only open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The Sun Dial in Atlanta, GA, http://www.sundialrestaurant.com/ has a panoramic view of the city. It's absolutely breath taking. The top level where you dine goes around in a circle so you can see the entire city. I can't stress enough how impressive this place is. You will get major points with women if you take them there.

Oh, and if you want a casual place to eat while actually on patrol and not about to propose, you can go to Mimi’s Cafe. The food is great and the prices are low. Cute atmosphere. Try the petite Cobb salad. (If you get the full size they just add extra lettuce, who cares about that.) It comes with your choice of several muffins. Buttermilk spice is the best. They also always serve really great bread. Carrot date nut bread and regular french bread is brought out if you are having a full meal.
