I am new to the site. I am a twelve year vet and I have recently moved to a small department with 8 miles of a major highway. I get very few calls so I have plenty of time to hunt. I have always been pretty good at finding dope, but on a patrol level so this is a little new to me. I have had 16 MISD cases and 2 felony cases in the last week from the highway. I am looking to reduce the MISD cases and increase the felony cases. I know that loads and MISD are two different animals...I am looking for resources to improve the level of felonies.

I have been to RCTA several times, you are correct it is a very good training facility. I am looking for fax blast information.

Any EPIC or HIDTA class is good, most offer courses in hidden compartments. The HIDTA schools are great. Interdiction is about studying the cars most often used in transporting narcotics, and learning what does and does not belong when the car is stopped. Also, for prkr34, I don't know where u are at, but you need to find the major source and destination cities in your area and surrounding state. I am on IH 20 East of Dallas. Dallas in the 2nd biggest distribution center behind Houston for drugs coming into the US. Yes, even beats Miami! I look for cars going to back to destination cities. Atlanga GA is one of the big ones I get a lot of dope out of, Birmingham AL, Jackson MS, things like that. Also, find other roads that are worked hard. If u stop a car that is way off route and should be on the roads that are worked hard, bingo! Always develop reasonable suspicion to ask a person to search (avoids case law), but do not be afraid to ask for consent and do not be intimidated. Always remember, nowdays, people who look like a total thug usually aren't hauling large amount of dope, but always talk to the nicely dressed middle aged person (male or female), grandmother-grandfather type, people with kids (Drug Cartels in Mexico are hiring out kids to ride with them to make them look like a family), things like that. Stop cars, talk to people, learn body language and u will start getting big loads.

You need to start flipping and making C.I's so you can turn those Misd. arrests to Felonies..
