To all the security officers/guards out there what are your future plans? Managment? Corrections? Police?

My plans are to move form detention to the street. There is to much BS with our jail and I am getting sick of it. Being a street officer is always been my dream.

I plan on retiring, moving to the country Belize, opening a bicycle rentals shop for the visiting tourist / divers and drinking patron all day long........ I can live like a king on my PD retirement down there......

My plans are to get out of security and stay out of it. With Security if you don't get away from it, you never will. I think I'm going back to truck driving.

Ditto for me too BAD_LT. I've been to Belize while I was in the Military. If I had the money at the time I was down there,,I could've owned an Island.

I am going to try and reestablish myself and return to the LE field. I made a poor decision once and have been paying for it the last two years.

I'm in management now while taking online classes, and I'm looking to get out. Like Glock stated, if you stay there long enough you don't get away from it. I already took Nassau County PD, and looking at Jersey City PD and hope to join with either one. I would join NYPD but I can't afford living off that salary in NYC, I would end up homeless. They really need to do something about that salary, it's really sad and and it lowers moral especially with the rookies.

Already worked the management bit and it was enough to get me out of contract security. My future is in a PD. If for some reason I don't make it, I'd like to own my own business (like a restaurant or a custom auto shop). This is my last security gig.

Hearts desire is PD, striving toward traffic detail.  But obvoiusly i'd go where ever they wanted me.  If it doesn't work out, something in IT field so my wife could go part time and work on going back to school and getting her master's degree in accounting, this way i could be a lazy bum and work wherever I wanted once she started making the big bucks, lol.

You can always cook food that has beer as an ingredient. That'll make up for lack of grilling

My plan in the very near future is early retirement, then work in security full time, preferably in executive protection.

I just started my Security Gig about 2 weeks ago, so I'll be doing this for probably another year then get into the Transportation and Security Administration (TSA). I'll then work for the TSA until I get hired onto a PD within the Northwest Suburbs of Illinois.
