Posted 7 months ago I have always been very interested in drug enforcement. I had personally experienced how drugs can tear a family apart prior to my law enforcement career. What field interest you the most and why. |

| Posted 7 months ago I worked in several areas during my career. I was in charge of the "Crime Prevention Bureau" and found that rewarding because it also encompassed crime analysis which helped up formulate tactical responses and develop good intelligence. I commanded the "Detective Bureau" but to me I got bored with the "after the incident" feel. I modernized of "Record Room" but that was boring. My heart was always in the "Uniform Patrol Division" as a street cop, Sergeant and eventually the Uniform Commander as a Captain. Just loved being in the middle of the shit, I guess. Being a Tyrant does not make one a Leader! |

| Posted 7 months ago Investigations, any investigations, I like solving puzzles but most of all outwitting offenders and getting them to confess. Brings a tear to my eye. A real close second is being a dumb street cop. I enjoyed the adrenaline, the people and the variety. |

| Posted 7 months ago I'd really like to go into narcotics. I am tired of looking at towns and cities getting destroyed by drug usage. Children being left alone from either drug, or alcoholic parents. I use to volunteer for Big Brother Big Sister and it was unbelievable to me of how many cases of abandoned children or abused children in the town next to mine. Hopefully my participation as a LEO one day, I will be able to help decrease the matters of these causes. |

I work as a computer technician for Seton Hall and there are many ways to conduct computer crimes. Its surprising to me to see that your dept. does not take it Seriously. do you know why? |

| Posted 7 months ago Batronpe said: Really not sure.. We get into talking about it hot and heavy, then next thing I know.. It's all dropped. But low and behold, today I look in my mail bin and my re-cert class came in. Computer Crimes Investigation.. There might be hope yet. To be honest. Our department has very few computer savvy people. And fewer still are in the Brass.. I think, simply that they aren't willing to admit it's an area that needs to be monitored. |

| Posted 7 months ago tgooding said: do you work with computers and if so, what do you do? I hope that my skills in the computer will be helpful. I mean, the things that people can do with simply computer programming skills are unbelievable. hacking into systems and identity theft. I would think the police force would want to find a solution to these everyday problems as soon as possible. |

| Posted 7 months ago Before I got involved in it I would have told you that this was the most boring and useless part of police work but once I started really doing it I changed my mind. I am talking about Accident Reconstruction. It can be absolutely fascinating when it is done right as you can tell exactly what happened where and to whom and when. If there are not witnesses or only one witness the ability to discover what 'really' happened and not what you were told happened or it looked like happened. You get to investigate the fatalities and place blame where it really belongs. If you are good them when your police public service career has come to an end you can make big bucks for attorneys and insurance co's. I hated to go to traffic accidents but after learning how to re-construct them, I had a blast and loved the look on the faces of those that thought they could pull the wool over my eyes by telling me lies. The other thing is you can still ride Motors and be on the SWAT team. LOL! God but I miss my job! |

| Posted 7 months ago K9, K9, K9, K9...I guess that's why I'm stuck in Emergency Managmement....LOL I'm a lieutenant now and I still joke that I'm a Patrolman trapped in a Lt.s body. Knowing now ....I'd have passed it up for better times. Did I mention I'm most interested in K9...lol |

| Posted 7 months ago I'm looking forward to patrol. In our department women are taken off the streets quickly most only lasting a year or two. So i'm planning on breaking that cycle. I really want to get seasoned in patrol before i go anywhere else. Eventually i want to be on the drug task force and do UC work but our department isnt sending anyone to our state task force anytime soon, so I'll have plenty of time to learn the street work first. |

| Posted 7 months ago I’m basically new around here but I’ve always been drawn to anything regarding criminal justice. I never really considered working in the LE sector and maybe I never actually will. I applied for a correctional officer position 2 weeks ago but if I were younger I would love being a FBI agent or in DEA.
