SUBJECT: 3-Day SWAT K9 Interacting During Deployment School (SKIDDS) and Canine Tactical School (CATS) for K9 Units and SWAT Team members
DATES: November 2-4
NOTE: This course is open to Law Enforcement only. Tactical type clothing (BDUs) is appropriate for this training.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Learn how a police service dog (P.S.D.) functions
Proper selection process of a K-9 team
Discuss the many different uses for a K-9 in a SWAT deployment * The need for on going training with the SWAT team and K-9
Using a K-9 on Scouting missions
Using a K-9 on an Arrest teams
Searching techniques with a K-9 on a SWAT Deployment
Using a K-9 in a building search
Using a K-9 in an area search
Using the latest arrest and officer safety techniques
Correct tactical outing procedures in case of an emergency

Deployment Training Scenario’s
INSTRUCTOR: Primary instructor will be Brad Smith. Brad Smith has been a canine handler for 20 years and a SWAT dog handler for the last 18 years at West Covina Police Department in southern California. He’s also the president of Canine Tactical Operations & Consulting LLC. In 1997 he designed the only P.O.S.T. certified K-9 SWAT school, which brings K-9 units and SWAT teams together for organized training.
