Workshop Purpose:
Improvised explosive devices (IED’s) are a preferred method of attack for terrorists around the
world. This workshop is designed to enhance and strengthen the participant’s knowledge, skills,
and abilities in relation to the threat of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED’s). This threat
provides terrorists with an operational flexibility that poses great challenges to those tasked with
preventing their use or mitigating their effects. The information presented outlines specific
safeties for law enforcement personnel in supporting mission areas dealing with IED awareness,
explosive incidents and bombing prevention. Specific information sharing resources are provided
promoting preparedness. This designed approach better enables law enforcement personnel to
deter, prevent, detect, protect against, and respond to terrorist use of explosives in the United
States
San Manuel Band of Mission Indians will be hosting an IED
Awareness Course for Law Enforcement put on by the
Department of Homeland Security. There is no cost for the
