MS-13 (Mara Salvatrucha) gang members are some of the most dangerous gang members that we have to deal with. Identifying MS-13 gang members by tattoos, can be very easy because the majority of the time the tattoos are self explanatory and very large. This is not consistant with all MS but the majority of them will have large and a lot of tattoos. Below you will find a list of some MS-13 tattoos and their meaning.

MSX3 - This is MS-13 using the roman numeral 10 to replace the 1 in 13. M represents Mara, S represents Salvatrucha nad 13 shows respect to the Mexican Mafia. This respect is shown because the MexicanMafia somewhat resolved the rivalry between MS and 18th Street by dividing areas of California into sections fr drug sales.

Three Dots - The three dots will be in a triangular shape and represent the only three places you will go once you join the gang. These three places are the hospital, prisn or grave. This is the thought process that MS gang members have so be safe.

You will also see the area code for El Salvador, which is 503.

A MS tattoo above the shoulders is the ultimate honor and only seen on high ranking members.

Comsistant with other gangs MS has cliques (refered to a sets in other gangs). These cligues have names and are shortned by the first letter in each name. Below you will find examples of these letters.
