We do not use food for compliance we make their work all about the play and advancing their hunt drive and prey drive. Food seams to become a distraction and keeping them on task more difficult. Ulitimately it boils down to what gets consistant results.

I have found it takes a dog two to three times longer to get anywhere using food, espeially when it comes down to patrol and scent training you cant have your partner looking to eat what he finds. I would probably only use food on a puppy.
